Nødhjælp til Haiti

Haitians rummage through a school in the slum of Cité Soleil, near Port-au-Prince, collapsed by a violent earthquake that struck the area on 12 January.   Children eat a meal which was distributed by Bolivian UN peacekeepers in Cite Soleil.   A boy eats his meal as he watches a long line of Port-au-Prince residents waiting to receive water from the local fire department. Haiti's capital was left ravaged, and with few resources, after a powerful earthquake struck on 12 January

Dear President Nadége B Jaques, dear Elisabeth Woolley,
Dear Soroptimists in Haiti,
It is with deep sorrow,
that we all follow the reports in the media about the earthquake, that killed and injured so many people and destroyed so many buildings in your city.
On behalf of Soroptimist International I share Anusha’s prayers for the wellbeing of the members in your club and of your families. Please give our warm thoughts and love to the members, when it is possible for your to get in contact, as we understand that the infra structure is more or less broken down.
We hope and expect that the international society and humanitarian organizations will give you and the citizens in Port-au-Prince a first help and support to the injured and the homeless.
Please receive once again our deepest sympathy and our best wishes, that you, your city and its citizens will be able to see the light at the end of the dark tunnel.
In friendship
Hanne Jensbo
International President
