Currency:
Currency in Denmark is Danish Crownes (DKK). Rarely shops accept payment in EURO. Credit cards like Master Cards and Visa Cards are willingly accepted. Rate of exchange: 1 EURO = 7,40 DKK (July 2007)
Hotels, airports and banks change your currency into Danish Crownes. Forex Valutaveksling will do the same, located in city: Ryesgade 28, 8000 Aarhus C.
September weather:
September is an exiting month. Prepare for extremes from Indian Summer over rainy autumn like conditions with windy weather. Bring your walking shoes, a warm sweater and feel good and practical clothing.
Danish dress code:
The Danes are casually dressed but we do like dressing up for a good party.
Opening hours:
In general shops are open Monday through Friday 09.00/10.00 – 17.30/18.00. Saturday 09.30 – 14.00. Sundays shops are normally closed. Department stores, shopping centres and super markets may have extended opening hours.
Museums:
Museums are normally open in the weekend and closed Monday. If you have a specific museum in mind, please feel free to contact us by mail, and we shall get back with details. Some Museums offer websites in English.
The Aarhus Passport allows free local transport in busses and includes admission/discount to a number of museums in Aarhus. Price: DKK 139,00 for 24 hours and DKK 169 for 48 hours. You can get one at your hotel.
Smoking:
By law it is forbidden to smoke in all public buildings and in restaurants for more than 40 people.
Stamps:
Stamps are sold in kiosks, supermarkets, department stores and post offices.
